Specialist Leaders of Education

Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs) are outstanding middle and senior leaders who have the skills required to support individuals or teams in similar positions in other schools. The SLE role is designed to help improve the quality of school leadership through school-to-school support and peer-to-peer learning, with the ultimate goal being to raise standards and improve the outcomes for children.

Literacy for Life

Literacy for Life aims to develop both our students’ soft and hard skills, with a particular focus on raising levels of achievement in both Numeracy and Literacy.

Literacy for Life is an integrated, thematic, competency based curriculum created for our Key Stage 3 students. The L4L curriculum is delivered through the principles of project based learning. Our L4L curriculum focuses on creating an actively engaging learning experience, rich in the use of new technologies, and one which is personalised and responsive to the needs of our students.

Our Main Aims

To provide a dedicated service directly delivered by the Safeguarding Manager whose safeguarding work has been consistently judged to be ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.
To ensure safeguarding remains the focus for our children whilst working alongside the curriculum to raise standards and allow them to achieve.
To compliment your already existing Safeguarding practice and meet the needs of your school, children and families.

ICT Support Service

Shireland Primary Technical Support Services (SPTSS) have been supporting schools in the West Midlands for over 10 years. As a school based service we know firsthand how important your Technology needs are. We have the experience to help teaching and technology work hand in hand to create a seamless classroom experience for your staff and pupils. Being at the forefront of technology in education we know how to harness your hardware and software to the learning experience. In establishing a series of Technology Support packages we have tried to provide a service which has a core offer and then a number of bolt-ons to provide for those “special events” such as OfSTED, a hardware disaster or even a spending spree!

Financial Services

We pride ourselves on being able to establish strong working relationships with our client schools based on trust and understanding delivered in a professional manner. Our service is based on the principle of working with schools helping Head Teachers and Governors develop ways to achieve their aims and resolve issues quickly and efficiently working within the bounds of relevant policies, procedures and legislation. Service’s offered are designed to meet the needs of individual schools. We fully appreciate that there are times when a school will need additional support and will strive to ensure that these needs are met.

Human Resources

Based at Shireland Collegiate Academy the Collegiate Academy Trust Human Resources Service was established in 2008 and currently provides a high quality comprehensive HR service to over thirty five schools serving a mixed economy of Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Special Schools. The schools we serve have differing employer responsibilities being a combination of LA Schools, Voluntary Aided Trust Schools, Academies and Free Schools.
Being school based means we have a unique understanding of the needs of and the pressures on schools. As a team we have over forty years’ experience of delivering high quality HR Services to schools, with in depth knowledge of terms and conditions of employment, education legislation and working with trade unions and professional associations.

The service is designed to meet the needs of individual schools, we fully appreciate that there are times when a school will need additional support and strive to ensure that these needs are met.
